WHAT IS A HERITAGE?

Heritage: something transmitted by or acquired from a predecessor, especially: the traditions, achievements, beliefs, etc., that are part of the history of a group or nation or an established or customary pattern of thought, action, or behavior. – Merriam-Webster

Heritage is more than tradition.
Traditions are the outward expression; heritage is the meaning behind them.
Heritage includes the values, beliefs, stories, skills, recipes, rhythms, and memories we intentionally pass to the next generation.

The atmosphere, routines, conversations, and traditions of a home influence generations. Good or bad – these things are always being cultivated and passed down.

A World That Feels Out of Control

We live in a world that is busy and feels busy, with constant distractions pulling you every direction until you are overwhelmed and overstimulated.

Many people want to make a difference, they see that a change needs or should be done but they don’t know how or where to begin. We feel like little fish in big ponds but we need to remember that we are also the

Your greatest sphere of influence isn’t “out there” but within your own home.

Just like the 4H pledge, change begins at the club – your home and your family. Be the change you want to see in the world – and as a woman regardless if you are a stay at home, work from home, go to work – you are a homemaker, you are the one using your head, heart, hands and health. If there are people in your life you love you are continually shaping a heritage.

The strongest communities are built around strong families and strong families are built within the home.

Homemaking Is Purposeful Work

A homemaker uses:

Her hands.
Her health.

Not simply to keep a material house, but to cultivate a home where people emotionally and spiritually flourish. You can have the best cleaning routine in the world but if your home is not emotionally grounded, IT WILL NEVER FEEL CLEAN.
