- 2 Cups Flour
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1 Cup Butter
- 1/3 Cup Milk
- 2 Tbsp Butter for greasing dish
Preheat oven to 400ºF
Combine dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl and use a cheese grater to grate cold butter into dry ingredients.
Add cold milk and combine to form a rough dough. Use a stand mixer or mix by hand until a smooth dough forms.
Divide into two and roll dough into crust sized rounds on a lightly flowered surface.
Thickly coat your pie pan in butter prior to laying in your crust to grease the pie pan.
Lay bottom crust into the pie pan. Add finger ridges if desired.
Add either sweet or savory pie filling and cover with the top crust.
Trim your edges and use remaining dough to create designs
If you are creating a dessert pie, use approximately 1 tablespoon of milk and brush the top of your pie and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake your pie 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
